CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A task force responsible for reviewing the state’s community and technical colleges as well as workforce development efforts heard from various subcommittees about improving efficiency in programs.
The Blue Ribbon Task Force on Aligning the Roles and Missions of the State Community and Technical College System and Workforce Development System on Friday heard from subcommittees on agency integration, data sharing, co-enrollment, cross-training and employer engagement about sharing information and connecting West Virginians to job opportunities.
Gov. Jim Justice created the task force in June to open the state to better employment opportunities and align training problems at institutions with workforce development efforts.
The task force will continue working through the year, in which members will present its findings to the governor at that time.
